Holitna River Fishing Float Trip

Season/Dates: July 1st - July 30th
Species: King & Chum Salmon, Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden, Sheefish, Northern Pike
Length: 7 Days

The Holitna River is a 110 mile long tributary of the Kuskokwim River and is one of the most remote Alaska float trips available. Flowing north from the Kuskokwim Mountains to the Kuskokwim River at the village of Sleetmute, the Holitna river is home to many different species of fish.

You'll fly from Anchorage to Sleetmute, a small town on the east bank of the Kuskokwim River, a mile and a half north of its junction with the Holitna River. We will pick you up there with our float plane and take you to the top end of the Holitna. You'll then spend the next 7 days floating down the river. Each full day of fishing ends with some traditional Alaskan camping.

Super Cub Flyout Trip

Season/Dates: July 1st - July 30th
Species: Northern Pike, Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling
Length: 7 Days

Remote cabins, secret lakes, hidden towns and not just one, but quite literally hundreds of rivers... need we say more? The ultimate Alaska fishing adventure where you'll see more of this great state in a week than most people will in a lifetime. This trip takes you to areas so stunning and remote that we can't even share all of them with you here on the website or it'll spoil the surprise! Plus, this experience is tailored to YOUR idea of the perfect Alaska fishing trip, so locations and exact schedule are very easily changed.

We'll start you off by flying from Wasilla out across the Alaska Range, a narrow 400 mile long mountain range in the southcentral region of the state. We'll land right at our remote cabin on a small lake full of Northern Pike and a great view of the Range. This marks the beginning of the wildest fishing adventure in Alaska. The Nushagak, Aniak, Innoko and Holitna rivers are all part of this trip (unless of course you decide you really love one spot and want to stay there). We know all the best spots and we have the flexibility to go pretty much anywhere, anytime, at the drop of a hat.

"Alaskan Adventurer" Yacht Fishing & Sightseeing Trip

Length: 5 Nights / 4 Days

Forget the big ships... get up close and personal to some of the most beautiful areas Alaska has to offer, and fish while doing it! Aboard the Alaskan Adventurer, an 80ft aluminum hull Sport Fishing Yacht, either fish & shrimp like crazy, do some sight seeing (and whale watching!), comb the beaches or all of the above! Grizzly Expeditions has partnered with this family owned and operated guiding service to offer you a different way to experience Alaska.

You'll fly into Sitka and meet Captain Nick of the Alaskan Adventurer. After a ridiculously short drive to the magnificent yacht, you'll set sail. This trip is more or less like having your own mini cruise ship. You decide when you want to fish and when you want to soak in the sights. We have many guests on this trip who aren't the fishing type who are just as happy viewing the wildlife and the breathtaking Alaskan landscape.

Costa Rica Fishing Trip

Season/Dates: December 1st - March 31st
Species: Sailfish, Marlin
Length: 6 Days

Although there is no shortage of fishing captains in Costa Rica, this particular trip will take you out with Captain Bobby McGuinness of the Cazador. Also known as the "fish magnet", Bobby holds almost over 200 IGFA world records (more than any other captain in Costa Rica) set throughout 30 years of fishing. Grizzly Expeditions chooses Bobby to captain this trip because, well, he is the best there is.

The Cazador is a 37-foot Merritt Sportfisher powered by twin 450HP Cummins diesel engines, developing a cruising speed of 27 knots. She is equipped with the absolute latest in fishing technology, including GPS, color video sounder, radar, VHF and SSB radio, USCG safety equipment, live well, fighting chair, Penn International and Shimano reels with custom built rods and Billy Pate fly reels with Orvis fly rods. These are all things that aid in keeping the trip fun, producing unbeatable results and most importantly, staying safe!

Your trip starts at your arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica, where our pre-arranged van will pick you up and bring you to the Sleep Inn, a newly built 4 story hotel located right in the heart of the Capital, near almost all of the tourist attractions the city has to offer. The following day, the driver will take you to the airport for your flight to the coast in Golfito, by way of Nature Air (Costa Rica's leading independent domestic airline, offering daily flights from San Jose to most of the country's top tourist and sportfishing destinations)

NOTE: There is a 40lb per person baggage limit. Excess baggage is charged according to weight. Also, if you weight over 300lbs, you will be required to purchase a second plane ticket!

Following the 55 minute flight, we'll arrive in Golfito for a 5 minute ride to the lodge - then the rest of the day is yours! The hotel, Las Gaviotas, overlooks Golfo Dulce and features a spacious open lounge finished with native woods (Rosewood and Teak), a gift shop, bar and restaurant, fitness room, hiking trails, internet service and a very nice swimming pool with a fantastic view. All rooms are air conditioned and have ceiling fans, cable TV and a small kitchenette for light cooking.
